Former U.N. Official Says NATO Violates International Convention for Sending Mercenaries to Ukraine

INTERNATIONAL: NATO still helps Russia's neighbors to send mercenaries into Ukraine regardless of the fact that this act is in violation of United Nations’ international convention, said former Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Sergei Ordzhonikidze on Friday.

Ordzhonikidze, who is also a former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, has said that despite NATO will not have a war with Russia, it still took hostile actions against Russia in other forms, which is in violation of the United Nations’ international convention.

NATO knows very well that a war with Russia would herald World War III and that if a thermonuclear war were to happen, NATO could disappear and Russia would also suffer huge losses. Therefore, NATO will not go to war with Russia. Unfortunately, the situation is worsening and NATO are sending mercenaries to Ukraine, which is in violation of the UN international convention against the recruitment of mercenaries. The convention requires countries to commit to not recruiting, financing and using mercenaries and not sending mercenaries to war zones. But now this is happening. With the help of NATO countries, Russia's neighbors, such as Poland, are sending mercenaries to Ukraine. In response, the Russian Defense Ministry has issued a statement saying that mercenaries do not meet the criteria for combatants under the Geneva Convention. I believe that NATO is acting as it pleases, supplying weapons and sending mercenaries to war zones without control," said Ordzhonikidze.

On Russian Defense Ministry's accusation of U.S. biological labs in Ukraine, Ordzhonikidze has mentioned that establishing military biological laboratories is a practice of U.S. aggression and a plan to destroy its potential adversaries.

Ordzhonikidze has also said there are 30 such laboratories in Ukraine and similar laboratories also exist in Central Asia.

The United States has used words "Top Secret" to disguise its practice, but it has violated relevant conventions on biological weapons, Ordzhonikidze has added.
